Over the past decade, the City of Los Angeles has made a commitment to ensuring quality jobs at LAX by passing several laws that protect the rights of airport workers. This Report Card evaluates the food service industry at LAX and finds that while a few airport restaurants receive high marks, most are lagging behind in the treament of their employees.

A new LAANE study documents serious labor, health and safety problems at McDonald's LAX franchises. It reveals that McDonald's workers report dangerous working conditions, wage and hour violations, threats of termination after injuries and illness, and sexual harassment. Consumers have potentially been put at risk by numerous violations of health regulations, while McDonald's has withheld nearly $1 million in concession fees from the airport.
